Just after the installation of Service Pack 1 for Office 2010, users began noticing problems with certain letters and forms within the system. When generating a letter to the client from the Client Intake Screen, a letter for each and every case in the system would appear. In other words, the system was no longer limiting the letter to the single client.
After a few days of searching for the problem, it was discovered that Microsoft had changed the way in which filters worked within forms and reports. When a form or report was opened with a filter (limiting it to a particular client's information), if the record source was updated or changed the filter disappeared. This behavior was unexpected and something that had been in stable use in Microsoft Access for years.
Microsoft was contacted and provided information on the problem. After they looked into the issue, they discovered that they had changed this and would look into the reason to see if they could find a solution.
A new update has been provided and is due to be released . The update may be found on Microsoft's website: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2618119
A specific hotfix for just this issue is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596496
This should resolve the issue people were seeing with Office 2010 Service Pack 1.
